Sinclair ZX Spectrum microcomputer, 1982.

UNITED KINGDOM – APRIL 04: Clive Sinclair introduced the ZX Spectrum into the marketplace in August, 1982. Sinclair’s aim was to provide an upgraded version of his original ZX81, which would be able to compete with the colour graphics of the recently introduced Atari, Commodore and Acorn computers. The ZX Spectrum was the company’s most significant commercial success and enabled Sinclair Research to achieve market dominance in the UK in the early 1980s. The model shown has 48K of RAM.
